Elizabeth Skane
Partner - San Diego / Las Vegas

Elizabeth Skane is a Dean’s List graduate of the School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University.  She earned her law degree at the University of San Diego.  Liz is “AV”® Rated with Martindale Hubbell, and has been published in the 2005 edition of AM Best’s Directory of Recommended insurance attorneys and adjusters.  Liz is admitted to practice in the State of California and the State of Nevada.  Liz specializes in the areas of insurance defense litigation, including construction defect, personal injury, premises liability, government tort liability, and insurance coverage.  Liz also represents contractors and subcontractors in the areas of contractors’ rights and remedies.  Liz is a member of the San Diego County Bar Association, the Nevada Trial Lawyers Association, the Association of Southern California Defense Counsel, San Diego Defense Lawyers, and the American Bar Association.  In November 2005, Liz was selected to be a member of the San Diego Superior Court’s Construction Defect CMO Review Committee. Liz is currently Co-Chair of the Construction Defect Committee for Claims and Litigation Management Alliance.

Wendy Wilcox
Partner - Los Angeles / San Francisco

Wendy L. Wilcox earned her B.A. (1993) in Sociology, with honors, from the University of California, Los Angeles.  Wendy earned her J.D. (1997), with honors, from Southwestern University School of Law. She has also received various awards, including Excellence For the Future Award – Employment Discrimination Law and Exceptional Achievement Award – Intellectual Property.  Wendy focuses her attention in the areas of products, premises and professional liability, construction defect and insurance coverage litigation and employment practices litigation.  She has written numerous articles concerning insurance coverage, construction defect, litigation, arbitration, expert witnesses, and has presented this material at seminars.  Wendy has also represented several defendants in published California Appellate and Supreme Court decisions.  Wendy is a member of the Los Angeles County Bar Association, Professional Liability Underwriters Society and Defense Research Institute.  She is admitted in all courts in California, both state and federal.   Wendy is also admitted to practice before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.

Wendy was a speaker at the 17th Annual West Coast Casualty Construction Defect Seminar on May 13 and 14, 2010, at The Disneyland Hotel.  She lectured on current construction defect and insurance issues.

Wendy was a speaker at the 15th Annual West Region Construction Defect & Law Seminar on the subject of Construction Defect Class Actions on September 16-18, 2009, in San Diego, California.

Wendy was a speaker at the West Coast Casualty Construction Defect Seminar held on May 14 and 15, 2009, at The Disneyland Hotel.  She spoke on the various issues concerning the recent California Supreme Court decision of Crawford v. Weather Shield Manufacturing, Inc. (2008) 44 Cal. 4th 541.
